This is amazing. That's pretty much all you need to know, though it does have an interesting back story.
Why Discarded? Well, this rum was used to season oak barrels for a year before being discarded so a 14 year old whisky could be aged in the barrels to create a Caribbean finished 15 year old whisky. Next they found someone using bananas and throwing away the peel, which when added to the rum, created rich banana and toffee flavours.
It's fruity and quite sweet, with the complexity of an oak aged rum.
Drink it straight over ice or add a ginger ale - but really - take it straight.
